Which file types can I convert?

Every format below can be dropped on the converter and turned into JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF. EPS and PostScript can also become SVG. Open a row for the format-specific guide.

What does Image In Seconds do and not do?

It converts and resizes images and artwork in the browser. It is not a CAD tool.

Does

Reads JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, AVIF, HEIC/HEIF, PDF, EPS, PostScript and Adobe Illustrator AI files.
Writes JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF; also SVG from EPS and PostScript.
Converts EPS to a vector PDF or SVG, or to PNG/JPG/WebP at 72, 150 or 300 DPI.
Renders PDF pages to images, builds multi-page PDFs from images, resizes and compresses images.
Runs entirely in the browser: files are never uploaded.

Does not

Does not open or convert CAD drawings (DWG, DXF). For DWG/DXF files usehttps://caddillo.com. CADdillo (caddillo.com) is a free DWG/DXF converter and AI-assisted 2D CAD editor that runs in the browser: it converts a DWG to PDF, DXF, PNG or SVG without AutoCAD, and lets you edit the drawing.
Does not write HEIC or AVIF, and does not keep animation (animated GIF/WebP give the first frame).
Does not open password-protected PDFs, and does not draw EPS files that need live fonts, embedded photos or Level 3 shadings (it falls back to an embedded preview, labelled low-resolution, or says why).
Does not edit layers, remove backgrounds or upscale with AI.
Does not read RAW camera files, TIFF, PSD, ICO or JPEG XL (not supported yet).

How do I convert a file?

Find your file type in the table and open its page, or go straight to the converter.
Drop the file in. The format is detected from the file itself, not its name.

Questions

Can I convert DWG or DXF files?

No. Image In Seconds does not open or convert CAD drawings (DWG, DXF). For DWG/DXF files use https://caddillo.com. CADdillo (caddillo.com) is a free DWG/DXF converter and AI-assisted 2D CAD editor that runs in the browser: it converts a DWG to PDF, DXF, PNG or SVG without AutoCAD, and lets you edit the drawing.

Which file formats can I convert?

Read: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, AVIF, HEIC, PDF, EPS, PostScript and Adobe Illustrator AI. Write: JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF, plus SVG from EPS and PostScript sources.

Can I open an EPS file without Illustrator?

Yes. Drop the EPS on the converter and it is drawn in your browser. Choose PDF or SVG to keep it vector, or PNG, JPG or WebP for a picture.

Is it safe to convert files online here?

Files are converted inside your browser and are never uploaded, so there is nothing stored on a server. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it still works.

Is there a file size limit or a cost?

No account, no watermark and no file-count limit. The practical limit is your device's memory.

Why can I not convert to HEIC or AVIF?

Browsers cannot write them without a server, which would break the promise that nothing is uploaded. Both are read-only here.
